“Entrepreneurship is widely recognized in Europe as a key force to drive the innovation process and to aid economies to survive the tsunami of global competition. Accordingly, as a matter of public policy, regional and national governments across Europe are placing increasing emphasis on supporting entrepreneurship. They understand the importance of creating a proper ecosystem to attract, support and retain world class entrepreneurs and their high tech startups. JADE, the European Confederation of Junior Enterprises, has played an active role in this emerging ecosystem throughout these last years. I am looking forward to follow the further developments and to see young entrepreneurship grow in Europe!” |
“JADE has clearly recognised the important connection between education and business which I fully support. Education is a vital component in creating a prosperous society where both human endeavour and comfort can thrive and giving students a chance to experience and learn entrepreneurial skills as part of their studies must be of vital assistance. Before setting out on the uncertain path of trying to be an entrepreneur I was assisted by undergoing a formal business education to postgraduate level in London. These were valuable lessons that went some way to preparing me for the wider world of running my own businesses and the initiative created by JADE can only help students to learn entrepreneurial skills and help prepare those who will eventually choose a career in business. I applaud the efforts of JADE !” |
“For JADE “learning by doing” matters more than words, it provides practical assistance and the exchange of experiences. JADE is part of the true European asset - a spirit of Partnership and cooperation. I am glad that JADE is firmly supporting the recent relaunch of the Lisbon Agenda. It is the spirit of JADE that fuels my conviction that as long as Europe is closely collaborating and dynamic, it will be able to achieve even its most ambitious goals.” |
“Over the past 40 years, the Junior Enterprise concept has evolved into a successful best practice, encouraging students, universities and enterprises to think beyond their national borders and national systems, to learn from each other, and to embrace entrepreneurship. This would not have been possible without the commitment and enthusiasm of the students involved. The benefits of actively participating in a Junior Enterprise reach far beyond setting up and running a business. It promotes an entrepreneurial mindset, fosters intercultural dialogue, and encourages mobility. In short, it is a life-changing experience. And I would like to wish JADE every success in its continuing efforts to change young people’s lives for better." |
“Joint projects between the European Commission and national governments highlighted activities based on students running mini-companies or Junior Enterprises in schools and universities as effective methods for spreading the entrepreneurial spirit. Students who participated in these activities are more self-confident, more innovative, more likely to seek new solutions and new technologies. Exchanging views with students working in Junior Enterprises is always enlightening, as one is impressed by the enthusiasm, innovation and creativity that these activities help to unlock in young people. I would, therefore, like to stress the role played by organisation like JADE, and the importance of Junior Enterprises as learning tools and bridges between university and the business world.” |
"We need the build bridges between the academic world of education and training on one side and the practical world of enterprises on the other side. We need to shape a more entrepreneurial Europe for the future of the next generations. JADE is doing an excellent job in this respect by offering students the chance to gain experience as entrepreneurs. This is why EUROCHAMBERS supports and promotes this initiative." |
"The future of the European Union lies in the hands of Europe´s youth. To get the European Union back on the track of growth, jobs and prosperity, we need initiatives and action to strengthen the base of our future by developing entrepreneurial mindsets among young people. JADE - the European Confederation of Junior Enterprises is a prime example when it comes to "learning by doing". By fostering the entrepreneurial mindsets among students, Junior Enterprises help to provide a conducive and competitive learning environment, creating leaders for the future of Europe." |
