Junior Enterprises of Tunisia organise “Entrepreneurship Day in Kairouan”
Last month, on 26th of May, JADE’s sister Confederation JET – Junior Enterprises of Tunisia had the opportunity to participate together with UNIDO – United Nations Industrial Development Organisation at the event « Entrepreneurship Day in Kairouan » and to deliver an opening speech presenting the Junior Enterprise Movement. The event, organized in partnership with the Institut Superieur des Etudes Technologiques (ISET) and the Agency for the Promotion of Industry and Innovation (API), had as its primary objective the promotion of entrepreneurship among young people in the region of Kairouan. In a few lines JET is saying us their experience to speak alongside high dignitaries as the Minister of Industry, Italian Ambassador, the Governor of Kairouan and many others.
JET is no stranger to public cultural and entrepreneurial forums, so when the opportunity came to take part in Kairouan’s Entrepreneurship Day on May 26th, the JET was the only NGO present. Upon our arrival we had a brief encounter with Mr Lamine Dhaoui, Director of the Business Investments and Technology Services Branch at UNIDO, a most interesting and pleasant character. The opening session began with the arrival of Mr. Karim Ben Naceur, Minister of Industry. We seated alongside Mr. Ben Naceur, Mr. De Cardonna the Italian ambassador, Mr. Mansouri the Governor of Kairouan as well as Mr. Dhaoui. Everyone present were welcoming, warm and very enthusiastic towards the Junior Enterprise movement.
After Mr. Mansouri’s intervention, followed by Mr. De Cardonna, Mr. Taktak, the meeting’s moderator, gave the floor to JET’s Secretary General, Ms. Meryem Masmoudi. She delivered an inspirational speech on what means to be an entrepreneur in Tunisia, you can also see it here. The closing word was that of Mr. Ben Naceur, in which he expressed his full support to our movement as well as our organization. In closing we had a little chat with Mr. Dhaoui, who spoke to us about the activities of UNIDO with JADE and with whom we discussed a possible partnership and exchanged contacts. Our day in Kairouan proved to be very beneficial as we exchanged contacts with the speakers, along with their promises of support of our movement. Taking part in this action allowed us to knit a larger web of national as well as international relations. »
