Every second year the European Youth Event takes place within the premises of European Parliament in Strasbourg. Over 7,000 Europeans aged 16-30 come together to exchange ideas on youth-related issues. It is considered a unique opportunity for thousands of young Europeans to make their voices heard.
During the event, the youth has the chance to exchange ideas, develop innovative solutions to crucial questions for the future and meet with European decision-makers and speakers with a wide range of professional experience.
JADE’s Vice-President Kassandra Petersen had been chosen to participate in the event as a speaker on May 21st on the topic “STAGNATION OR INNOVATION – Digital revolution: A fountain of jobs and innovation?”. During the session Kassandra participated as an the “idea givers” presenting two innovative proposals. The ideas aimed at changing the future agenda of EU institutions in order to trigger or modify EU legislation, or the structure of EU funding, while receiving direct feedback on them by policy makers and influencers, in this case the two Members of the European Parliament, Andreas Schwab and Edouard Martin, as well as Markus Bell from SAP and Stephen Clark, Director for relations with citizens with the European Parliament as moderator.

We had the chance to present the Junior Enterprise concept as the best tool to acquire entrepreneurial skills as well as a best practice in terms of personal and professional development. A JADE alumna, Ms Bianca Gfrei, also participated in the session, presenting her own entrepreneurial success story as the founder of Kiweno, startup recently awarded as the best in Austria, where it is based.
As JADE we are proud to have contributed to the event and to the engagement of young people in Europe, and we look forward to seeing the next developments in the EYE. #TogetherWeGrow!
