What is JADE?
JADE - the European Confederation of Junior Enterprises – is an international, non-profit umbrella-organisation of enterprises across Europe established and managed solely by students. The network is currently composed of 15 Confederations and Consultative Members from Europe, summing up to circa 300 SMEs. Fostering entrepreneurship among students, JADE offers its services to currently 20,000 members (the Junior Entrepreneurs) in a very wide range of fields like business and economics, engineering, and IT. These Junior Entrepreneurs are students who want to get practical experience during their studies by developing their own professional projects, and experiencing unique learning opportunities in the real business world. To them JADE offers the benefit to exchange knowledge and experience as well as to work together on international projects. Thereby, JADE supports its members to develop their own projects such as building start-ups, organising conferences, or implementing quality management projects and knowledge platforms solutions. In addition, through its related Junior Enterprises, JADE provides consultancy services to companies and other organizations, e.g. developing business plans, building up marketing strategies, and consulting engineering projects. JADE’s volunteering Executive Board is based in Brussels and works with the Commission on matters such as the Entrepreneurship Education strategies, the Oslo Agenda, the SBA for Europe, as well as the SME Week. Furthermore, the Executive Board actively interests and engages real-life businesses and entrepreneurial universities for JADEs activities, providing a platform for the students to develop innovative businesses. As the voice of the Junior Enterprise Movement and youth entrepreneurship in Europe, JADE’s mission is to:
